David Shipko is an award winning writer/director with a passion for emotional and thought-provoking entertainment. A graduate of the prestigious University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, with a B.A. in Cinema-Television Production, he is currently pursuing his M.A. in English at California State University, Los Angeles, with plans to continue on to earn his Phd. His lifelong mission is to create sublime space operas that explore the most beautiful and terrifying aspects of human nature and existence in order to provide his audience with experiences of catharsis, enlightenment, and inspiration.
As an undergraduate student, David produced and co-wrote The Fifth Horseman, a graduate thesis film that won top awards at USC's First Look, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' College Television Awards (Student Emmy's), and other domestic and international festivals.
David has crewed on music videos, commercials, and feature films for independent production companies and major networks and studios, including ABC, NBC, MTV, Disney, Nickelodean, and DreamWorks Animation. In these roles, he has worked alongside, learned from, and developed professional relationships with some of the finest artists and filmmakers in the world.
In his spare time, David reads, writes, and serves in the military as an Infantry officer in the California Army National Guard.
